Before I get into this Monday’s Motivation, I must brag about the two Christmas presents I got myself this year. The first is that I am converting my bedroom closet into a “cloffice” (as defined by Urban Dictionary minus the spontaneous sex). More on this when the transformation is complete and I do my big unveil. Secondly, I replaced my old dining room set that I bought when I was 20, a junior in college and planning my wedding. It was the very first piece of furniture I bought. We pulled together $20 as our first Kmart special layaway payment and we felt like true adults with a level of accomplishment and with throughs of a bright future. So young and so foolish. This was the only furniture I took in the divorce. Out with the old, in with the new for real! It’s about time!
Now to the motivational part… TGIM (thank God it’s Monday)! This video pep talk from Eric Thomas should be enough of a swift kick in the booty to get you moving this week. The first piece of advice in this video is to SHUT UP! You get more done that way. Ask my two kids. It takes them less than 3 minutes to brush their teeth when they don’t speak to each other. Otherwise, it takes them 20. I’m so tempted to put tape across their mouths, but then brushing teeth would be impossible. Watch this then shut your mouth!
Get stuff done!
Don’t be average!
End the year strong!
Set yourself up for 2014!
