Monday Motivation: Hope vs. Faith

Monday Motivation: Hope vs. Faith

Hope is wishing something would happen.
Faith is believing and knowing that something will happen.
Courage is making something happen.

I woke up this morning filled with hope. It lives in me in general, but today is exceptional…an exciting expectation for this week, for my clients, my business, my family and my future.

Then the internal debate started… Can you have one without the other? Faith and hope are two completely separate concepts that are complexly intertwined. Faith is the firm belief in something for which there is no proof. While hope is the desire accompanied by expectation of that thing’s fulfillment. With that in mind, we can only have faith in the presence of hope. It’s the strong desire or expectation (hope) that sparks faith and allows our faith to grow stronger. And then, adding the courage to take action will super-size your faith.

I encourage you to dig deep this week and find your renewed sense of hope, desire and hustle for the things you want in your life. That hope brings about a stronger faith in believing that those things will come to pass. Then, plan out at least 3 action steps that you will do this week to activate your faith, building your courage to take some leaps!

“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.” – Joseph Addison
