I just can’t believe that half of the year is over! How the heck did that happen? In the past, I’ve had the tendency to beat myself up about how the year has flown and I haven’t accomplished all of the things I should have or wanted.
In the past, I’ve had the tendency to beat myself up about how the year has flown by, looking at the goals I haven’t accomplished. Looking at the mountain’s summit that is still so far away. But over the last couple of years, I’ve taken a different approach to July as the half year mark. Now I position it as the perfect time to evaluate the goals I set for myself and decide what’s really important to me. Which of my goals will truly make a difference in my life…my family, marriage, business, relationship with God, health, etc. I also determine which of those goals will I look back a year from now and thank myself for achieving. What really matters? What will make a difference in the lives of others around me? What has the potential to change the world? Those are the specific goals I will focus on.
The glass is half full when it comes to the time left in the year. We have an entire 6 months left to do something our future self and the world around us will thank us for. For me, starting my blog benefited not only my business, but it also deepened my relationships with others, gave me a ministry and even an avenue for healing as a creative outlet.
If you’ve been wanting to start a personal or business blog and just keep putting it off (or like I did, on the back burner only to be forgotten about and burnt to a crisp), then I want to encourage you to take a step to achieving that goal.
